Bay is a Toronto based documentary film producer, director, writer, and cameraman. Through his company Close Up Films , Bay’s work has ranged from docs exploring social issues and history, to music and the arts.
His films include Road to Baleya (2008) about music as a path to development in Mali West, Africa; Spirits Of Havana (NFB 2001), about jazz musician Jane Bunnett in Cuba; StreetCity (1998) about housing for the homeless; and Return to Regent Park (1994).
Bay is currently in production on Finding Fidel, about the journey of cameraman Erik Durschmied to Cuba on the eve of the Revolution.
