Gary Marcuse

  • From 2004 to 2008 Gary was a programming executive for CBC Television in Vancouver. As liaison with the network documentary department he mentored 24 hours of documentary programming from BC, created the Digital Development Labs and an in-house low budget music series that turned radio recordings into television programs for Bold.
  • In 2008 Gary returned to independent production with Betsy Carson at Face To Face Media in Vancouver.
  • Gary’s filmography includes documentaries: ARKTIKA, The Russian Dream that Failed, Nuclear Dynamite, and The Mind of a Child (Director and Co-producer); Giant Sea Turtles, Jaguars, Siberian Tigers and The Search for Warrior Women (Director); Fix, the Story of an Addicted City (Executive Producer); A Rustling of Leaves: Inside the Philippine Revolution, Blockade, Champagne Safari, and Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media (Sound); and Scanning Television, First Nations, the Circle Unbroken, Alive in the Nuclear Age and The Sociological Imagination (educational media collections).
